Last week Bruce and his dad went to Canada to go fishing. I am so glad they went, it was a great time for them to be together. Life is too short to miss those special times.
While they were gone I tired to make some special times of my own, with the help of the g-kids. I took one child per night for 5 nights. Great fun, and what a difference there is in each one.
I started with the oldest and ended with Jeremiah.
Jake was first on Tuesday and this is how the night went. I picked him up from Marshall Arts and we grabbed McDonalds (I know I don't even like McDonalds, but anything for my guy). We went home and ate. Afterwards we played a long game of war, watched the Olympics. I gave him as I did each of them the option of where to sleep. One of the bedrroms, my room on the big chair, the livingroom without me, or the livingroom with me. Jake and slept in the livingroom together, one on each couch it was about 10:30 before he went to sleep. The next morning it was waffels and some Wii games of Mario.
Wednesday was a night for Jonas. He went home with me after church, and before going home we stopped at Classics for some Alien Ice, green apple to be exact. Then it was home for the Olympics, popcorn and pepis and more games of war, yes Jonas beat me, down to the very last card, where it was my last card and we both put down aces, well I couldn't battle him in war, so I lost again. Jonas is very independent so he slept in the livingroom and I slept in my bed that night once again about 10:30pm for bed. Because it was too late and dark when we got home from church I told Jonas when he got up he could swim, well he was up and dressed in his suit at 7:30 on Thurs morning. After swimming Jonas choose a pizza lunchable for breakfast. We are at g-house and whatever goes!
Maddox had open house for kindergarten on Thurs night, so he came over right afterwards. We headed to Dairy Queen and picked up his favorite, Mint Oreo blizzard. Home for Olympics and, you guessed it another battle of war. Sorta became a tradition for me and the boys. Yes he won, but it was close this time. Maddox choose to sleep in the livingroom and wanted me to sleep with him, so once again about 10:30 it was off to sleep, even though down to the last minute he was telling me he wasn't sleepy. Up at 7:20 by announcing that it was morning Maddox had a waffel and we played a game of Hungry Hippos ( or the loud game as we called it, cause when my head hurts it's too loud to play).
Friday night was girls night. Amaya came over, she had already eaten, so we just had popcorn. We watched the Olympics and did a mani and pedi, so cute and such a different feeling. Afterwards it was time for her too take a long bath in my tub. Not too often it is just us girls. She feel asleep on the couch watching a cartoon and had decided she would sleep in the playroom. Oh how I love this girl, she slept in till 8:25, then we had poptarts and did a few quick errands in town.
It's Saturday and Jer has been wanting to spend the night all week and it is finally his turn. I brought him home with me from the Pope house, they had me over for dinner. I wanted to get the car washed so we stopped at a carwash before going home. At 7:30 he feel asleep in the car. I took him in put him down and he slept till 9. I knew it might be a late night, but they usually are for me when Bruce is gone. We watched cartoons (Tom &Jerry) and he began wanting mommy and daddy. It was about 11:00 when Jas came and got him. I think that he wasn't use to be out for the whole evening by himself.
It was so much fun, to take each one on a seperate night they have spent the night quite a bit altogether, but this was just all about the g-kid of the night. With school now started it will be a bit harder to do it, but yes, I will do it again. Love those precious little ones.
